A Total Concept Landscape Architects is a medium sized, landscape architectural practice based in North Sydney (Crows Nest area). We have over 30 years experience in all aspects of landscape architecture with completion of thousands of projects of all sizes in Australia.

We have a relaxed (yet vibrant) work environment with a fantastic team. Our practice is located in a terrace house in a pleasant suburban street close to a variety of parks and cafes.

Our practice works on a broad range of small to large commercial and high-quality residential developments across Sydney including architectural alterations and additions, landscaping, cabanas and swimming pool designs. We provide our clients with a complete range of services including basic landscape and planting plans, concept design, approvals, construction documentation and contract administration.

About the Role

A Total Concept is seeking a skilled, talented and motivated Draftsperson to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will transform our innovative conceptual designs into precise, professional drawings that bring our concepts to life. You will collaborate closely with senior staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and excellence in all design documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed technical drawings and plans based on conceptual designs and engineering data.
  • Interpret design briefs and develop from initial concept design stage into high quality, detailed and accurate documentation packages using Vectorworks software.
  • Revise drawings as required based on feedback and design changes.
  • Ensure compliance and verify that drawings meet project specifications, site constraints, local council requirements, relevant industry standards, and company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with our team to support project development and delivery.
To be Successful in this Role
  • Proven experience as a Draftsperson or similar role with experience working in Australia in the residential and commercial industry and be able to demonstrate your knowledge/expertise in design and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Vectorworks software, experience in Indesign and Sketch-up is an advantage
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Hold at a minimum a Tertiary qualification in Landscape Architecture/Design or certification in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • An extensive plant species knowledge is an advantage
  • Have the ability to multi-task with a high level of attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills and be confident liaising with clients, consultants and contractors
  • Be willing to attend site visits and project meetings with or without other team members (Driver's Licence a must)
