About the role
This full-time Drafter/Programmer role at Castle Carpentry and Cladding in Braeside, VIC offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic engineering team. As a Drafter/Programmer, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and programming CNC machinery to support the company's carpentry and cladding operations.

Responsibilities

  • Programming CNC machines to fabricate custom cladding components
  • Collaborating with the engineering and production teams to ensure drawings and programs meet specifications
  • Troubleshooting and optimising CNC programs to improve efficiency and quality
  • Maintaining accurate technical documentation and records throughout the design and construction phases
  • Minimising material usage (nesting) and machine downtime

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a drafting or programming role within the engineering or construction industry
  • Proficiency in using CAD software such as AutoCAD
  • Experience in software programs such as toolpath, flow path, and Xcam
  • Experience with CNC programming and operation, particularly CNC router in aluminium Sheetmetal industry
  • Strong technical problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
