Job summary

Aster Home Care is seeking an empathetic In-Home Domestic Assistant to support seniors living independently across the Gold Coast, with a focus on South Gold Coast. You will deliver high-quality domestic cleaning and provide friendly social interaction.

The role offers permanent part-time hours with guaranteed weekly hours, annual leave, and a vehicle allowance for travel between clients. Training and office support are provided to ensure safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of proven experience in residential cleaning or domestic care.
• Valid open Queensland Driver's Licence and a reliable insured personal vehicle.
• A current National Police Certificate issued within the last 3 months.
• A smartphone and the ability to operate client roster and time-logging apps.

Responsibilities

• General Housekeeping: Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning kitchens, and sanitising bathrooms.
• Laundry Assistance: Changing bed linens, washing, hanging out, and folding clothes.
• Basic Meal Prep: Assisting with light meals or washing dishes when required.
• Safe Working Practices: Adhering to infection control protocols for a safe home environment.
• Client Care: Providing compassionate assistance and reporting changes in wellbeing.

We are seeking an empathetic and experienced In-Home Domestic Assistant to support our elderly clients living independently in their own homes across the Gold Coast area, with a focus on South Gold Coast. Unlike a rigid commercial environment, this role allows you to build trusted, long-term relationships with clients. Your primary focus will be delivering high-quality domestic cleaning services while providing friendly, respectful social interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• General Housekeeping: Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning kitchens, and thorough sanitisation of bathrooms/toilets.
• Laundry Assistance: Changing bed linens, washing, hanging out, and folding clothes.
• Basic Meal Prep: Assisting with light meal preparation or washing dishes when required.
• Safe Working Practices: Strictly adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a safe domestic environment.
• Client Care: Delivering compassionate assistance and reporting any noticeable changes in a client's physical or mental well-being.

Mandatory Selection Criteria

In order to be considered for the role, you must have:

• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in residential cleaning or domestic care.
• Valid open Queensland Driver's Licence and a reliable, fully insured personal vehicle (essential for traveling between clients).
• A current National Police Certificate (issued within the last 3 months) free of disqualifying offenses.
• A smartphone and the ability to comfortably operate client roster and time-logging apps.

This role involves manual domestic tasks. Candidates must have the physical capacity to safely perform repetitive bending, kneeling, lifting light household equipment (such as vacuum cleaners), and standing for extended periods. Successful applicants may be required to pass a pre-employment functional assessment.

Desirable Criteria

• CPP30321 Certificate III in Cleaning Operations or Certificate III in Individual Support.
• Completed training in Infection Control and Sanitisation.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
