Job summary

Mercy Health Australia is seeking a compassionate Domestic Assistant in Canberra to support Home Care clients with cleaning and laundry, helping them live independently at home. Flexible days and hours, and ongoing support from a dedicated service team are provided.

You’ll bring genuine care, reliability, and strong communication to build relationships with clients and colleagues while maintaining safety and dignity in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Home or Aged Care is advantageous, but not essential.
• Strong communication, time management and organisational skills.
• Current Drivers Licence.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Experience in home care and domestic assistance.

Responsibilities

• Provide domestic assistance with cleaning and laundry for Home Care clients.
• Support clients to live independently at home.
• Coordinate with service team to ensure quality care.
• Maintain client safety and dignity.

We are currently looking for passionate people to support our Home Care clients to live independently at home by providing domestic assistance with cleaning and laundry duties

• Ongoing support provided by a dedicated service team.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

• Certificate III in Home or Aged Care is advantageous, but not essential.
• Passion about helping people in your community, with strong relationship building, time management and budget management skills.
• Previous case management experience as well as relevant qualifications.
• Current Drivers Licence.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A safe, sensible approach with a practical understanding of people’s physical limitations.
• The ability to be flexible and adapt to meet clients’ individual needs.

We would also love you to have:

• A current NDIS Workers screening check
• Proof of current influenza vaccination.
