Job summary

West Recruitment is seeking a Domain Architect with extensive experience in infrastructure, enterprise networking, and OT (Operational Technology) to own architecture across networking, infrastructure and connectivity. You will ensure secure, resilient solutions aligned with long-term business strategy, engaging with SCADA and operations teams to protect critical OT environments.

You must lead across reference designs, roadmaps, and architecture governance while guiding vendors and engineering

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as Domain/Infrastructure/Solution Architect in critical infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in enterprise networking (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN).
• Strong IT/OT security, Zero Trust, firewalls and DMZ design.
• Azure networking and hybrid cloud connectivity expertise.

Responsibilities

• Develop current-state and target-state architectures, reference architectures, technology standards and roadmaps.
• Lead architecture across enterprise networks, infrastructure, Azure connectivity and IT/OT integration.
• Review Solution Architecture Documents (SADs), technical designs and architecture decision records.
• Ensure solutions meet performance, capacity, latency, security and 24x7 availability requirements.
• Challenge vendors and engineering teams to deliver practical, secure and cost-effective solutions.
• Work closely with SCADA, protection systems and operational teams to ensure technology changes do not compromise critical OT environments.
• Provide technical leadership and architecture assurance across major technology initiatives.

This role will influence the technology footprint with specific focus on Infrastructure, Network and Operational Technology (OT).

About Your New Role

As Domain Architect, you will take ownership of architecture across enterprise networking, infrastructure and connectivity, ensuring technology solutions are secure, resilient and aligned with long-term business strategy. This is a technically focused architecture role requiring someone who can operate strategically while getting into the detail of complex designs.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Develop current-state and target-state architectures, reference architectures, technology standards and roadmaps.
• Lead architecture across enterprise networks, infrastructure, Azure connectivity and IT/OT integration.
• Review Solution Architecture Documents (SADs), technical designs and architecture decision records.

About You

You are an experienced Domain Architect, Infrastructure Architect or senior Solution Architect with strong enterprise networking expertise and experience operating within critical infrastructure. You understand that designing technology for essential services is fundamentally different from a traditional corporate IT environment.

Other key attributes to your profile:

• You come from the critical Infrastructure sector and come with OT (Operational Technology) experience and a sound understanding of SCADA.
• Technical knowledge of Enterprise Networking TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN, VLAN/VRF, routing, QoS and network segmentation.
• Strong understanding of Palo Alto firewalls, VPN/IPsec, DMZ architecture, Zero Trust, network access controls and IT/OT security boundaries.
• Azure & Hybrid Cloud. Experience with Azure networking, including Virtual Networks, Virtual WAN, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, Private Link and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Architecture & Governance. Demonstrated ability to develop target-state architectures, reference designs, architecture standards, technical roadmaps and design assurance assessments.
• Technical Leadership. Bring the ability to challenge complex designs, influence engineering teams and vendors, facilitate workshops and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
