Job summary

Symal is seeking an experienced Document Controller to manage the document control system for a major Solar Farm and BESS project in Victoria. You will support engineering, construction and commercial teams, ensuring accurate distribution, version control and traceability of all project documentation.

Reporting to the Project Services team, you will engage with subcontractors and OEMs, maintain registers, and assist with close-out documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in document control on renewables or major infrastructure projects preferred.
• Proficiency with Procore and familiarity with other PM platforms is advantageous.
• High accuracy and consistency when handling large volumes of technical documents.

The role

Symal Group has entered a Joint Venture partnership with the intent to deliver a major utility-scale Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Victoria.

We're seeking an experienced Document Controller, with a proven track record on renewable energy or major infrastructure projects, to play a key role in the successful delivery of this nationally significant project.

Reporting to the Project Services team, you'll manage the project's document control system, supporting engineering, construction and commercial teams and engaging with subcontractors, OEMs and key stakeholders.

You'll be responsible for the accurate control, distribution and traceability of all project documentation both upstream and downstream, playing a key role in supporting the operational success of the project.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a project of major significance, helping shape delivery strategies and contributing to one of Australia's largest renewable energy developments.

Your everyday

• Manage the project's document control system in Procore (or similar platforms such as Aconex or ProjectWise) across solar, BESS, civil, electrical and high-voltage infrastructure works.
• Control and distribute drawings, specifications, RFIs, transmittals and other project documentation, maintaining version control and audit trails.
• Maintain document registers and ensure all documentation is accurately coded, filed and readily retrievable.
• Track document review and approval workflows, following up outstanding actions with engineering, construction and subcontractor teams.
• Support project close-out by compiling and handing over accurate as-built documentation and O&M manuals upstream to the client and downstream from subcontractors.

Who are you?

• Demonstrated document control experience on utility-scale renewables projects is held in high regard. Wider infrastructure experience may also be considered.
• Proficiency with Procore is essential, with experience in other project management platforms such as Procore, Aconex, ProjectWise or SharePoint also held in high regard.
• Strong understanding of project documentation, drawing/revision control and document numbering conventions.
• High level of accuracy and consistency when handling large volumes of technical and commercial documentation.
• Excellent organisational skills, with strong attention to detail and communication skills
