Job summary

Gold Coast City Marina & Boatyard (GCCM) on the Gold Coast is seeking a Dockmaster to support the day-to-day marina operations, berthing, vessel movements and guest services in a busy, service‑driven environment.

You will work with the Member & Guest Services team to ensure safety, cleanliness and smooth operations, including weekends and rotating rosters. A practical, hands-on attitude and boating/marina interest are important assets.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • A practical, hands-on attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interest or experience in boating, marinas or the marine industry.
  • Good safety awareness.
  • Availability to work weekends and rotating rosters.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting members and guests with berthing, casting off and marina services.
  • Supporting vessel arrivals and departures.
  • Assisting customers at the fuel dock.
  • Carrying out dock walks and basic marina maintenance.
  • Maintaining marina facilities to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Completing meter reads and other marina operational tasks.
  • Working closely with the Member & Guest Services team.
  • Following all safety and environmental procedures.

Located in a prime position on Queensland’s spectacular Gold Coast, GCCM is Australia’s most comprehensive and award‑winning shipyard facility. With more than 90 leading marine businesses on site, the precinct delivers unmatched convenience, competitive solutions, and consistently high‑quality workmanship.

About the Role

You will support the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the marina, including:

  • Assisting members and guests with berthing, casting off and marina services
  • Supporting vessel arrivals and departures
  • Assisting customers at the fuel dock
  • Carrying out dock walks and basic marina maintenance
  • Maintaining marina facilities to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation
  • Completing meter reads and other marina operational tasks
  • Working closely with the Member & Guest Services team
  • Following all safety and environmental procedures.
The Ideal Person We Seek Would Have:

A Boat Licence, BIA Marine Card or First Aid would be advantageous.
