Job summary

Alpine Health in Myrtleford is seeking a District Nurse for a fixed term 6 weeks (14th Dec 2026 - 31 Jan 2027) on a 0.6 EFT part-time basis. You’ll visit clients at home to keep them healthy, independent and connected to their community.

Responsibilities include wound care, medication management and health education, delivered with compassion and the ability to work independently in a rural setting. Weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

  • Registered nurses with current AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum of two years postgraduate nursing experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Have a Victorian Drivers Licence and be comfortable navigating country roads.
  • Organised, adaptable and confident working independently.
  • Compassionate with a great sense of humour.
  • Enjoy building genuine connections with clients.
  • Prepared to work weekends as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide home-based nursing support to keep clients healthy, independent and connected to their community.
  • Deliver wound care, medication management and health education in clients' homes.
  • Work autonomously in a rural setting, with occasional weekend commitments.

Role Overview:

You will be out and about supporting people in their homes and helping them stay healthy, independent and connected to their community. From wound care and medication management to health education - you will make a real difference every single day.

What we are looking for:
  • Registered nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum of two years postgraduate nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Have a current Victorian Driving Licence and comfortable navigating country roads
  • Organised, adaptable and confident working independently
  • Compassionate with a great sense of humour
  • Someone who enjoys building genuine connections with clients
  • Prepared to work weekends as required
Bonus points if you have:
  • Community or district nursing experience
  • Experience in Wound Management, CVAD's, Palliative care, Negative Pressure Wound Therapy, Stoma and Catheter care.
