Job summary

WorkSafe Victoria is seeking a Dispute Resolution Officer in Melbourne to support the management and early resolution of disputes within the CaRS division. You will engage with workers, representatives, unions and internal teams to facilitate fair, practical outcomes and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

The role involves conciliation, mediation, review processes and regional travel, with a hybrid Melbourne CBD base and occasional Geelong office visits.

Qualifications

• Experience in dispute resolution and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and relationship management skills.
• Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability with practical advice.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with workers, representatives, unions and stakeholder groups.
• Assess disputes, identify resolution pathways and support early resolution.
• Obtain and analyse claim information to support informed decision-making and case management.
• Coordinate dispute activities and maintain records and timelines.
• Engage with workers and representatives to understand concerns and facilitate outcomes.
• Participate in conciliation conferences and other resolution processes.
