Graham House Community Centre in Murgon, QLD, is seeking a Project Officer to lead a Disaster Resilient Future Ready program across Cherbourg and Proston. The role offers full-time or part-time options (up to 76 hours per fortnight) with a project duration of about 6 to 9 months, based in the South Burnett region.

You will plan, implement and evaluate activities, develop visual disaster-preparedness tools, run hands-on community training, and report to partners and funding bodies, helping

Qualifications

• Experience in project management including planning, execution, problem solving and evaluation.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct group training events.
• Understanding of community development principles and practices.
• Demonstrated skill in communicating and negotiating with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for reports and planning discussions.
• Proficient computer skills and related software.
• A motor vehicle usable for work; travel will be involved.

Responsabilités

• Plan, implement and evaluate this project.
• Work collaboratively with project partners.
• Plan and conduct events where community groups discuss disaster preparedness and practice strategies; connect with local council plans and support links.
• Design and create visual tools to explain emergency actions relevant to each community.
• Engage community members to increase emergency preparedness in their situations.
• Provide regular reports to management and project partners.
• Prepare a final report and acquittal information as required by the funding body.
