Yooralla in Gippsland is seeking a Disability Support Worker to provide person-centred support in Residential Accommodation and Shared Living settings. The role offers casual shifts, flexible hours, and opportunities to contribute to clients’ goals in home and community settings.

You’ll help with daily living, personal care, and activities, while upholding safety, quality and compliance. A Certificate IV in Disability or related experience is valued, along with a driver licence and first aid.

Formación

• Certificate IV in Disability or related training.
• Experience in disability services or community support.
• Australian Driver Licence and right to work in Australia.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• First Aid/CPR certification if not already possessed.

A day in the life of a Residential Accommodation Disability Support worker at Yooralla.

So what will you actually be doing as a Disability Support Worker (DSW) in Residential Accommodation? This rewarding role supports adults with disability one-on-one or in groups, in their homes and occasionally in the community. You will work closely with individuals to implement personalised plans that address their unique needs and goals. No one work day (or night) will be the same! You might support clients with:

• working towards their goals
• shopping, appointments and events
• daily living and personal care needs, including assistance with meal preparation, personal hygiene and mobility, and

About You

We're looking for people who are passionate, have a great attitude and an eagerness to learn. You'll share Yooralla’svaluesand have:

• a positive approach, initiative and self-motivation
• willingness to be committed to empowering our clients to reach their goals, and to upholding quality and safeguards in your everyday work
• effective communication skills, and good English literacy to communicate well with our clients
• ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team
• willingness to support clients with personal care activities
• Australian Driver Licence
• the right to work in Australia, and
• The ability to get a First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate if you don’t already have one.

A Certificate IV in Disability, relevant work experience or an interest in community services would be great, if you already have any of these. If not, don’t worry as Yooralla provides excellent training and support, and can even support you to work and study. You may even find you have some transferable skills to bring to the role.

You will be subject to NDIS Worker Screening Check.
