Job summary

Wesley Mission Queensland is seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our Specialist Disability Accommodation Services.

You will provide personal care, daily living support, and help residents build independence within a supportive, nurse-led team. This role covers Tewantin and Maroochydore locations and includes ongoing training in High Intensity Supports.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Empathy and patience for supporting people with disability.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and daily living support (meals, hygiene, household tasks).
• Support individuals to build independence and life skills.

Disability Support Worker - Specialist Disability Accommodation Services

Join Wesley Mission Queensland as a Disability Support Worker in our Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) team.

This is hands-on, meaningful work where you support vulnerable people with disability to build independence in their everyday lives.

In this role, you will:

Led by Registered Nurses

Trained to practice High Intensity Supports (i.e. Dysphasia management, Epilepsy, Tracheostomy).

Provide personal care and daily living support (meals, hygiene, household tasks)

Support individuals to build independence and life skills

Assist with community access and participation

Work collaboratively with a team to deliver active supports and, person-centred care

What your day can look like

No two days are the same. You might:

Help someone cook their first independent meal

Support a resident to confidently leave home and access the community

Deliver responsive support to individuals with complex needs, ensuring they feel safe and supported.

Build trust through everyday routines, conversations, and shared activities

This is practical, real work where you can see the impact you make.

Permanent DSW Pay Rates:

Mon–Fri (AM shifts): $36.22/hr

Mon–Fri (Afternoon shifts): $40.75/hr

Mon–Fri (Night shifts): $41.65/hr

Saturday: $54.33/hr

Sunday: $72.44/hr

Public Holidays: $90.55/hr

Requirements

Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent

Current Australian Driver’s Licence – with full comprehensive motor vehicle insurance

NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain)

Current First Aid & CPR

Ability to work across Tewantin and Maroochydore locations

Strong written and verbal communication skills
