Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking a Disability Support Worker (Male) on a casual basis to support clients in Port Augusta and the Eyre Peninsula region. The role involves assisting with daily living, transport, and community access within 24/7 rostering, including nights and weekends.

You will work as part of a team in residential settings, upholding person-centred plans, documenting progress, and respecting cultural connections with Aboriginal communities.

Qualifications

• Requires unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence.
• Current Provide First Aid Certificate & CPR.
• Experience and ability in managing challenging behaviours.
• Sound understanding and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and issues affecting Aboriginal people.

Responsibilities

About the role

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity to make a positive change in the lives of people with a disability in the Port Augusta community.

We have casual positions available across our 24/7 supported residential homes, where you will work as a team in actively supporting our clients' individual complex needs by creating a safe environment and ensuring services are delivered in a culturally appropriate way.

These roles will require successful applicants to be available and willing to work within a 24/7 roster that includes regular shift work, including night shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Skills & Experience

Successful candidates will be required to undertake probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and hold NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
