TQN Care is seeking a Disability Support Worker (Male) to support one young man on the Northern Beaches, NSW. You will work in a small, fixed team with a BSP, assisting with community access, outings, meals, and personal care while staying calm and de-escalating when needed.
The role offers a permanent part-time roster of 25 hours per week, a base SCHADS level 3 rate of 40.49/hr plus penalties, paid induction, a work vehicle, and an on-call team lead.
Support one young man on the Northern Beaches to get out, stay safe and enjoy his week.
TL is in his 20s, lives with his family in Narraweena, is autistic (level 3) and communicates through gestures and behaviour. He loves the movies, the beach and throwing a ball around. He also has a current Behaviour Support Plan and needs workers who stay calm, stick to the routine and know how to de-escalate. We are building a small, fixed team of three so he sees the same faces every week.
Permanent part-time, 25 hours per week guaranteed on a fixed roster (no chasing shifts)
SCHADS Level 3 ($40.49/hr base) plus afternoon, Saturday and Sunday penalties; most shifts attract loadings
Paid induction before your first shift: BSP walk-through with the behaviour practitioner, medication administration, CPR/first aid, 2 paid shadow shifts
Work vehicle supplied for community access
On-call team lead 7am–10pm who knows the participant, not a call centre
One participant, one team, one coordinator — you will know the plan, the triggers and what works
Mon 9:00–21:00 (community access 2:1, then in-home)
Tue–Fri 15:00–21:00 (in-home and local outings)
Sat and Sun 8:00–21:00 (community access and in-home)
Experience supporting people with behaviours of concern (physical aggression, self-injury, absconding) and following a BSP
Physically able to meet the demands of the role: community outings and beach visits, responding safely to physical behaviours of concern as per the BSP, and standing, walking and assisting with personal care across a 6–12 hour shift
Calm, consistent, takes initiative with daily tasks: meals, showering, getting ready, outings
Comfortable supporting medication and mealtime/swallowing plans
NDIS Worker Screening Check, current driver’s licence, First Aid (or willing to obtain; we pay)
Cert III Individual Support or equivalent experience
Male applicants only: this is a genuine occupational requirement based on the participant’s documented support needs and preference (Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW) s 31)
