Job summary

Northcott is seeking a dedicated Support Worker in Ipswich to assist people living with disability. The role offers permanent part-time and casual opportunities, with a focus on building meaningful connections and supporting independence.

You will work with a supportive team, providing person-centred care, community access, meal preparation, and health-plan adherence to empower participants to live their best lives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months’ disability sector experience.
• Experience supporting children and young people with varied needs, including behaviours of concern.
• Ability to work across shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
• Experience working with families from diverse backgrounds and maintaining a person-centred approach.
• Experience in Mental Health and Behaviour Support Plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care that promotes dignity and independence.
• Support safe manual handling and mobility using hoists and other aids.
• Follow individual care plans to meet health needs (epilepsy, wound care).
• Prepare meals and assist with mealtimes per plans.
• Develop positive relationships and support individual care plans.
• Support community access and use service vehicles such as vans.
