Job summary

NDIS Discover Nursing Australia Liverpool, NSW 2170 is seeking friendly and reliable Disability Support Workers to provide consistent 1:1 companionship and support to a participant in Liverpool, NSW 2170. This role focuses on companionship, social participation, and helping the participant enjoy everyday life with minimal self-care assistance.

You will help with community activities, outings, appointments and light daily living tasks while promoting independence and confidence.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent).
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Current National Police Check.
• Current First Aid Certificate and CPR.
• Australian working rights and a valid driver’s licence.

Current Opportunity – Liverpool, NSW 2170

We are currently seeking friendly, reliable and engaging Disability Support Workers to provide consistent 1:1 support to a participant in Liverpool, NSW 2170.

This is primarily a companionship and community access role, with only minimal assistance with self-care required.

The participant is looking for someone who can provide genuine companionship, assist with getting out into the community and support everyday activities while encouraging as much independence as possible.

A good personality match and the ability to build a comfortable, respectful and consistent relationship with the participant are particularly important.

The Role

Support may include:

• Companionship and social engagement.
• Community access and social participation.
• Cafés, lunch and social outings.
• Shopping and everyday errands.
• Attending appointments.
• Walks, parks and local outings.
• Recreational and leisure activities.
• Exploring new interests and activities.
• Transport within the community.
• Encouragement with everyday routines.
• Minimal self-care/personal care assistance.
• Light assistance with daily living where required.
• Supporting independence, confidence and choice.
• Maintaining accurate progress notes and support documentation

This is not a high-intensity personal care role. The primary focus is companionship, community participation and supporting the participant to enjoy greater independence in everyday life.

What You'll Need

Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain where applicable:

• Certificate III in Individual Support or an equivalent/relevant qualification.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Current National Police Check.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Current CPR certification.
• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module - Quality, Safety and You.
• Australian working rights.
• Current driver's licence.
• Reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for transporting the participant.
• Australian Business Number (ABN) or willingness to obtain one.
• A professional, reliable and participant-focused approach.
