Job summary

Scope in Colac is seeking a Disability Support Worker to provide person-centred care, promote independence and assist with daily living activities. The role is permanent part-time with a monthly total of 96 hours, including all rostered shifts.

You’ll follow documented plans, use de-escalation strategies, and communicate effectively with the team. Training and orientation are provided, with opportunities for professional development within Scope.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent is highly desirable.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check are required.
• Current Level 2 First Aid & CPR Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, respectful, person-centred support promoting dignity and independence.
• Follow behaviour support strategies, routines and safety procedures.
• Assist participants with daily living, personal care, health routines, and community access.
• Use calm communication and de-escalation to manage behaviours of concern.
• Work independently while following structured support plans.
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate with the team.
• Bring patience, reliability and a calm, supportive approach to every shift.
• Be available to work all shifts listed in roster.

About the Role

• Provide warm, respectful, person-centred support that promotes dignity and independence
• Follow behaviour support strategies, routines, and safety procedures consistently
• Support participants with daily living, personal care, health routines, and community access
• Use calm communication and effective de-escalation to manage behaviours of concern
• Work confidently and independently while following structured support plans
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate effectively with the wider team
• Bring patience, reliability, and a calm, supportive approach to every shift
• Must be available to work all shifts listed in roster

Must hold or be willing to obtain

• Certificate IV in Disability (or equivalence)is highly desirable
• NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance and Working with Children's Check (Employee)
• Current Level 2 First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Valid Australian Working Rights and an International Police Check if you have lived or worked overseas for more than one (1) year within the last ten years.
