Job summary

AMPE Services Pty Ltd is seeking reliable Disability Support Workers for casual roles, covering holidays, day programs, and sleepovers. You will support participants with complex medical and behavioural needs, ensuring safety and building life skills.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team in South Western Sydney, with competitive casual rates and opportunities for ongoing training and development in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing participants with complex medical and behavioural needs.
• Current certification in Manual Handling and Medication Administration.
• Excellent communication and empathy.
• Ability to stay calm and effective in challenging situations.
• Flexibility to cover holidays, weekends, active nights, and sleepovers as needed.
• Strong reporting skills with clear shift notes and progress records.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, First Aid and other background checks.

Responsibilities

• Support participants with complex medical needs in daily life.
• Manage participants with complex medical needs (e.g., bowel care, PEG, dysphagia, catheters, hoist transfers, ventilation).
• Support participants with complex behavioural needs.
• Help participants build essential life skills.

Disability Support Worker – Casual & Holiday Cover

AMPE Services is seeking reliable, skilled Disability Support Workers to join the team on a casual basis, with a focus on providing crucial coverage during holiday periods, day program, active nights, and sleepovers. In this role, you will work directly with participants who have complex medical needs, supporting them in their daily lives and helping them build essential life skills.

Key responsibilities

Support participants with complex medical needs in their daily lives

Manage participants with complex medical needs such as complex bowel care, PEG, dysphagia, urinary catheters, hoist transfers, or ventilation

Support participants with complex behavioural needs

Help participants build essential life skills

Write clear, accurate shift notes and progress records

Work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multicultural, multidisciplinary team environment

About you

Demonstrated experience managing participants with complex medical needs and complex behavioural needs

Current certification in Manual Handling and Medication Administration

Excellent communication skills and deep empathy

Ability to stay calm and effective in challenging situations

Flexibility to cover holidays, weekends, active nights, and sleepovers as needed

Strong reporting skills with the ability to write clear, accurate shift notes and progress records

Successful completion of an NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, First Aid Certificate and other relevant background checks
