Job summary

Scope Aust is recruiting a pool of casual Disability Support Workers to support in Illawarra (Bomaderry) across SIL homes. You will provide warm, respectful, person-centred care that promotes dignity and independence, following structured plans and safety procedures.

You’ll support daily living activities, health routines and community access, using calm communication to de‑escalate behaviours of concern. Flexibility across shifts and reliable teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check are required.
• Current Level 2 First Aid and CPR certification is required.
• Green Ps or higher NSW driver’s licence is required.
• Australian working rights and any applicable police check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, respectful, person-centred support promoting dignity and independence.
• Follow behaviour support strategies, routines and safety procedures.
• Support daily living activities, personal care, health routines, and community access.
• Use calm communication and de-escalation to manage behaviours of concern.
• Work confidently and independently with structured support plans.
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate with the team.

About The Role

We are recruiting a pool of casuals to support across the Illawarra area in our SIL homes

• Provide warm, respectful, person-centred support that promotes dignity and independence
• Follow behaviour support strategies, routines, and safety procedures consistently
• Support participants with daily living, personal care, health routines, and community access
• Use calm communication and effective de-escalation to manage behaviours of concern
• Work confidently and independently while following structured support plans
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate effectively with the wider team
• Bring patience, reliability, and a calm, supportive approach to every shift

What You'll Need

• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and overnight (active/sleepover).
• NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children Check.
• Current Level 2 First Aid & CPR Certificate.
• Green P’s or higher NSW driver’s licence
• Valid Australian working rights and international police check (if applicable).
