Job summary

VMCH in Wangaratta is seeking a Casual Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality care, support daily living activities and respect client choices. You will deliver personal care in group programs and offer 1-1 care for both children and adults in a supportive team setting.

This role emphasizes person-centred care, safety, and positive environments, with shifts across mornings, afternoons, sleepovers, and camps. A strong commitment to care and flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Individual Support or Certificate IV Disability preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to converse with understanding and patience
• Passion for working with children and adults with a disability
• Previous experience in Disability or Community sector preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong commitment to service and care
• NDIS Check, WWC and Current First Aid Certificate and CPR required
• Current Victorian Driver licence
• Flexibility to work early morning, afternoon, evening, sleepover shifts and camps whenever required

The position

As a Disability Support Worker at VMCH, you’ll provide high standards of care to our clients supporting activities of daily life while supporting individual choices and preferences. You will be providing personal care and support in group programs and 1-1 direct care for children and adults.

What’s required

• Certificate III Individual Support or Certificate IV Disability or similar - preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to converse and relate to people with understanding, patience and sensitivity
• Passion for working with children and adults with a disability
