Job summary

Carewell Healthcare Disability Service Provider in Townsville is seeking a Casual Disability Support Worker to assist clients in houses and in the community. You will provide personal care, mobility support including hoisting, light housekeeping, transportation assistance, and help clients achieve their goals.

Ideal candidates will have NDIS compliance, First Aid/CPR, a certificate in personal support, and a reliable vehicle.

Qualifications

• NDIS compliance completed prior to onboarding.
• Certificate III in Individual Support or higher is a plus.
• NDIS Worker Screening clearance and Blue Card required or obtainable.
• First Aid and CPR certification included or able to obtain.
• Own reliable vehicle is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in disability houses and on community access outings.
• Assist with personal care, mobility including wheelchairs and hoisting, and light housekeeping.
• Help clients achieve goals, accompany to appointments and activities.
• Prepare shift notes, report incidents and follow management directions.

Job description

Position: Casual Disability Support Worker
Provider: Carewell Healthcare Disability Service Provider, Townsville

Hours: Immediate shifts available. Service operates seven days a week from 6am to 10pm with sleepovers. Flexibility required.

Description

• Support clients in disability houses and on community access outings.
• Tasks include personal care, mobility support including wheelchairs and hoisting, household cleaning and maintenance, assisting clients to achieve goals, shopping, attending appointments, and community activities.
• Must be reliable, honest, and hardworking, able to follow company policies and directions from management.
• Incident reporting and shift note writing required; excellent communication and good English language skills needed.

Requirements

• NDIS compliance completed prior to onboarding.
• Industry experience highly preferred.
• Certificate III in Individual Support or Aged Care Cert III or higher is a plus.
• NDIS Worker Screening clearance and Blue Card for working with children or ability to obtain.
• First Aid and CPR.
• NDIS Orientation Certificate.
• Own reliable vehicle.
• Experience working with clients with intellectual disability or autism preferred; training provided.
• Hoisting experience highly preferred.
