About the role
Contract Care is recruiting experienced Disability Support Workers for casual shifts across North Sydney. You'll be supporting participants in Supported Independent Living in-home one-on-one shifts, and community access - helping people live the lives they choose. Choose your own availability, build consistent shift patterns with the same houses and participants, and work with a team that actually answers the phone.
What you'll do
- Support participants with personal care, daily living tasks, meal prep and medication prompting in line with their NDIS plan
- Assist with community access, transport, appointments, social and recreational activities
- Follow participant-centred support plans, behaviour support plans and house routines
- Use safe manual handling techniques including hoists, slings and transfers where required
- Document shift notes, incidents and progress against goals in the provider's system
- Work respectfully alongside families, support coordinators and allied health professionals
Pay & shifts
- Agency pay rates: [$41-$46/hr] + super, plus penalty rates for evenings, weekends, sleepovers and public holidays
- AM, PM, night and sleepover shifts available 7 days a week
- Weekday and weekend shifts across North Sydney

What you'll need
- ONE of the following: Cert III or Cert IV in Individual Support (Disability), Disability, Community Services, Mental Health, Ageing Support, or equivalent - PLUS at least 6 months paid experience supporting people with disability
- OR: at least 2 years paid experience as a disability support worker without a formal qualification (we'll review your experience case-by-case)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain before first shift)
- Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module ('Quality, Safety and You')
- Current Working with Children Check (state-specific)
- Manual handling competency (hoists, slings, transfers)
- Australian work rights and a smartphone for shift bookings, timesheets and shift notes
- Strong communication, patience and the ability to follow person-centred support plans
