Job summary

Live Your Best Life Disability Support Services in Newcastle is seeking Disability Support Workers for part-time roles across Newcastle & Maitland. You will engage with youths and young adults with ASD, participate in paid training shifts, and support participants with individualized plans, routines, and daily activities.

The role offers diverse shifts including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and overnight supports, with a clear path to senior roles.

Qualifications

• Paid disability support experience is essential.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and NSW Working With Children Check required.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Driver's licence and reliable, insured vehicle.
• Cert III/IV in Individual Support or Disability preferred; experience with behaviours of concern highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support across SIL, respite and day programs.
• Support under-18s and youths with ASD and complex behaviours.
• Carry out participant-specific routines and support plans.
• Engage in training shifts before working independently.
• Contribute to a positive, safe and motivating environment for participants.

At LYBL, every new team member completes paid training shifts before supporting a participant on their own. You'll know their routines, their support plan, and what a great day looks like for them before you're on your own.

At LYBL we direct our efforts and resources into supporting youths and young adults with ASD and complex behaviours, this is what we have been doing since we began operating and what we will continue to do into the future. We're growing across Newcastle and Maitland and want experienced support workers who love this work and do it properly.

The work

Variety across SIL, respite, day programs and under-18s covering , so no two weeks look the same. [Shifts include mornings, afternoons, weekends, sleepovers and active awake overnight supports]
