Side By Side Disability Services is seeking a calm, patient and experienced Disability Support Worker to support a 22-year-old non-verbal autistic man at home and in the community. The role involves assisting with routines, communication through visual supports, and following behaviour support plans to keep the client safe and engaged.

You will work within a 2:1 support model initially, maintain progress notes, and ensure a respectful, supportive environment.

He communicates through behaviour, body language, routines and visual supports. We are looking for someone who understands complex communication needs and can provide consistent, respectful support.

Requirements for all roles

• Experience supporting autistic people and individuals with complex communication needs

• Confident in spoken and written English

• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)

• Working with Children Check (WWCC)

• National Police Check

• Current First Aid Certificate & CPR Certificate

• NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate

• Current Driver’s Licence

• Reliable Vehicle with Comprehensive Insurance and Vehicle Registration
