St Jude’s has been one of the more innovative and leading service providers for people with disability and psychosocial needs in Australia since 1982. In recent times, our organisation has been experiencing substantial growth as a direct result of the quality of the services we provide. Our significant experience in service delivery is reflected through 40 years of providing quality services and maintaining the highest of standards for our clients.

The role of the Community Support Worker is to work with clients within the NDIS funding framework, assisting them to achieve their goals and increase their independence and participation within the community. You will provide support to people with disability and/or psychosocial needs, enabling them to undertake all aspects of daily living. You will also promote and demonstrate positive behaviours, learning experiences and skill development for your clients.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Taking clients out for social outings and activities, shopping trips or GP/specialist appointments
  • Servicing clients at their respective homes with activities of daily living such as toileting, showering and dressing
  • Light domestic duties and meal preparation/eating assistance
  • Liaising with the families and representatives of your client as required
Skills, Attributes and Experience

The ideal candidate will pride themselves on their ability to deliver person-centered care that values the choice and goals of the client. They will have the people skills to build and maintain meaningful, lasting relationships with their clients. They will also demonstrate a commitment to being a productive and positive member of the broader home and community team.

Key criteria includes:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and National Police Clearance (within the last 12 months)
  • Proof of working rights - Passport or visa
  • Valid West Australian driver's license and a reliable vehicle
  • Working With Children Check issued in Western Australia
  • Previous experience as a support worker in the health/disability sector or a relevant Cert III qualification is highly desirable but not essential
