Job summary

My Team Support Service in Albury/Wodonga is seeking casual, entry-level Disability Support Workers to provide person-centred support across the region. You will assist with daily living tasks, personal care, and community participation, while applying behaviour support strategies where needed.

We welcome applicants with First Aid/CPR, a genuine interest in helping others, and a willingness to obtain NDYS screening. Training will be provided, and previous disability experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Interest in supporting individuals with disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or Certificate IV in Disability Support preferred, or related experience.
• NDIS workers screening check or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support with personal care and activities of daily living, including showering, dressing, grooming, meal preparation and household tasks.
• Support people who may experience complex or challenging behaviours, following individual support plans, behaviour support strategies and established safety procedures.
• Assist participants to develop and maintain independence, daily living skills and meaningful routines.
• Support participants to access the community, attend appointments and participate in social, recreational and everyday activities.
• Observe and accurately document changes in a participant's health, wellbeing, behaviour or support needs and report concerns appropriately.
• Promote participant choice, dignity, independence and control in all aspects of their support.
• Work collaboratively with participants, families, colleagues and relevant health and allied health professionals to provide consistent, quality support.
