Job summary

Hability in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and Port Stephens NSW is hiring a Disability Support Worker. You will provide person-centred care, assist with activities of daily living, and support people with complex needs in home and community settings.

You will work flexibly in a casual role with potential for full-time prospects after six months, participate in training, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver tailored plans and positive behaviour support.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with various disabilities, including familiarity with behaviour support models.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to engage diverse participants.
• Patience, empathy and genuine passion for supporting people with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants with daily living activities and personal care.
• Support community access and social engagement opportunities.
• Assist in implementing therapeutic programs tailored to individual goals.
• Document progress and maintain accurate records of care.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure coordinated, person-centred plans.
