Chosen Family fosters a community-centric ecosystem that embraces diversity, flexibility, and enrichment for all. We continuously reimagine how our services can create platforms for equality, inclusion, and belonging. Committed to a culture of acceptance, we ensure that everyone is welcomed and valued. Recognising the interconnectedness of our humanity, we strive to empower individuals to live independently. By honouring each person’s unique identity and experiences, we celebrate and uplift one another in return.
Chosen Family is seeking compassionate, reliable and inclusive Support Workers to join our growing network for participant-matching opportunities across Sydney CBD and surrounding suburbs.
We work with people from diverse backgrounds and with a broad range of support needs. Depending on the participant and opportunity, our Support Workers may provide assistance across disability support, aged care, mental health, community access, daily living, social support, childcare and LGBTQIA+ support.
We welcome Support Workers of all gender identities, including female-identifying, male-identifying, transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse applicants.
We particularly value people who are LGBTQIA+-affirming, culturally aware, trauma-informed and respectful of individual identity, communication styles, preferences and lived experiences. Lived experience as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community is highly regarded.
You don't need to be the right person for every participant. Our focus is on finding the right match between each participant and Support Worker based on experience, skills, personality, availability, location, and individual preferences.
Depending on the participant and their individual support plan, responsibilities may include:
We encourage applications from Support Workers with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Whether you have extensive experience or have developed valuable skills through professional, community, or lived experience, we encourage you to apply if you believe you can provide safe, respectful, and person-centred support.
At Chosen Family, we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.
Our participants have individual preferences regarding gender, communication style, personality, lived experience, cultural background, interests, location, availability and areas of expertise.
These preferences vary from participant to participant and will be discussed privately with suitable applicants when an appropriate opportunity becomes available.
You may receive invitations to opportunities that align with your profile, experience, location and availability. We may also contact you by email, phone or text when we believe there is a potential match.
There is no expectation that you accept every opportunity. We want Support Workers to feel comfortable considering each opportunity and deciding whether it is suitable for them.
Additional qualifications, experience and certifications relevant to disability, aged care, mental health, childcare or community services are highly regarded.
Joining Chosen Family means becoming part of a diverse network of Support Workers who help people live with greater independence, connection, dignity and choice.
We take the time to understand both our participants and our Support Workers so we can identify opportunities where skills, experience, availability and personal approach are genuinely aligned.
If you're reliable, compassionate, inclusive and passionate about supporting people to live life on their own terms, we'd love to hear from you.
