BDO is seeking an exceptional Director to join its market-leading Strategy & Transformation practice in Australia. You will lead our most strategic client engagements, cultivate executive relationships, and drive growth while shaping the future of BDO's Strategy & Transformation offerings.

You will develop high-performing teams, deliver practical, evidence-based solutions from strategy through to implementation, and partner with C-suite and Boards to realise meaningful change across government

About the Role

BDO is building a rapidly growing top-tier Strategy & Transformation practice. We deliver specialised strategic advisory services backed by the breadth, scale and expertise of a full-service global network. We work with clients to address complex strategic and operational challenges, helping organisations define their direction, improve performance and deliver meaningful transformation. Working alongside experienced consulting professionals, you will lead complex engagements, helping clients with practical, evidence-based solutions, from strategy and planning through to implementation. You will have the opportunity to work on significant transformation and strategy engagements across a portfolio of government and private sector clients. Collaborating directly with C-suite and senior executive stakeholders, you will help organisations navigate complex challenges, unlock new sources of value and deliver meaningful change.

With experience gained in a leading consulting environment, you bring a strong track record across strategy, transformation, operating model design and performance improvement. You combine structured problem-solving with commercial pragmatism and a relentless focus on achieving measurable outcomes. As a Director, you will lead our most strategic client engagements, cultivate executive relationships, drive business growth and help shape the future of BDO's Strategy & Transformation practice. Equally passionate about people as performance, you will develop high-performing teams, strengthen our market presence and contribute to building one of Australia's leading Strategy & Transformation practices.

The key parts of this role are:

• Client Delivery and Advisory Lead and oversee complex engagements across public and private sector clients.
• Partner with senior client stakeholders to understand and address organisational priorities, challenges and opportunities.
• Provide trusted advice that supports strategic decision-making and long-term value creation.
• Ensure high-quality project outcomes through disciplined delivery, strong governance and exceptional client service.
• Facilitate executive workshops and stakeholder discussions to support alignment and decision-making.
• Strategy and Transformation Lead the development of strategies, business cases and transformation roadmaps that support client objectives.
• Support clients to define strategic priorities and translate them into practical, actionable plans.
• Oversee portfolio prioritisation, operating model design and business performance improvement initiatives.
• Help clients identify opportunities to improve organisational effectiveness, productivity and value delivery.
• Support the design and implementation of transformation initiatives across programs and projects.
• Value Realisation and Performance Improvement Help clients establish governance and performance disciplines that support successful execution.
• Support clients to define KPIs, performance measures and reporting frameworks that drive accountability and decision-making.
• Provide strategic insight regarding portfolio performance, investment priorities and transformation outcomes.
• Leadership, Team Contribution and Practice Development Lead, coach and develop consulting teams to deliver high-quality outcomes and build capability.
• Provide oversight, quality assurance and strategic direction across multiple engagements.
• Contribute to the development of methodologies, thought leadership, tools and service offerings.
• Build strong client relationships and support the growth of existing client accounts.
• Lead development of proposals, market engagement and broader practice development activities.

About You

Proven experience within a top-tier consulting and strategy advisory, with deep expertise across corporate strategy, enterprise transformation, operating model design, performance improvement, and the delivery of large-scale strategic initiatives. You will also need the following to ensure your success:

• Established market profile and executive network, with a strong track record of business development, client origination, and the conversion of strategic relationships into sustainable revenue growth.
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and Boards, providing strategic counsel, influencing critical decisions, and navigating complex organisational challenges.
• Proven leadership in designing and facilitating executive workshops, strategic planning sessions, and high-impact stakeholder engagements, supported by outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Strong people leadership credentials, with experience building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing consulting teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional growth.
• Recognised capability in developing thought leadership, shaping market propositions, and enhancing organisational reputation through industry expertise and innovation.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or equivalent are highly regarded.
