BDO is building a rapidly growing top-tier Strategy & Transformation practice in Sydney. We are seeking a high calibre Manager to lead complex engagements, collaborate with C-suite stakeholders, and develop the capability of the team as we deliver strategy, operating model design, and transformation roadmaps.

• Minimum of 5 years relevant post-graduate experience.
• Undergraduate or Postgraduate qualification (flexible disciplines).

About the Role

BDO is building a rapidly growing top-tier Strategy & Transformation practice. We deliver specialised strategic advisory services backed by the breadth, scale and expertise of a full-service global network. We work with clients to address complex strategic and operational challenges, helping organisations define their direction, improve performance and deliver meaningful transformation. Working alongside experienced Strategy & Transformation professionals, you will lead complex strategy engagements, helping clients with practical, evidence-based solutions, from strategy and planning through to implementation. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most significant transformation and strategy engagements across a portfolio of government and private sector clients. Collaborating directly with C-suite and senior executive stakeholders, you will help organisations navigate complex challenges, unlock new sources of value and deliver meaningful change. As we continue to build a market-leading practice, we are seeking a high calibre Manager with proven track record in a top-tier consulting firm to join our Sydney-based team. In this role, you will play an important role in leading our people and engagements, developing the capability of the Strategy & Transformation team, and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and delivery of complex engagements, with accountability for quality, client outcomes and deliverables
• Structure complex and ambiguous client challenges, providing strategic direction and overseeing the development of practical solutions
• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, providing advice and identifying opportunities to deliver additional value
• Lead executive workshops and multidisciplinary teams, bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise to achieve client outcomes
• Oversee the development of high-quality strategies, business cases, operating models, recommendations and transformation roadmaps
• Lead the scoping of client opportunities and development of proposals, tenders and other business development activities
• Coach and develop team members while contributing to the growth of the practice through thought leadership, market insights and development of our methodologies and offerings

About You

Our successful candidate will be an experienced consulting professional who is naturally inquisitive about how organisations operate and how they can improve. You will combine strong strategic and analytical thinking with the ability to lead teams, navigate ambiguity and build credibility with senior stakeholders. You will be comfortable taking ownership of complex engagements while developing others and contributing to the growth of the practice. You will also have: Prior consulting or professional services experience across strategy and transformation, operating model, performance improvement or related engagements Proven experience leading complex consulting engagements from scoping and planning through to delivery and implementation Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to structure ambiguity, develop insights and provide clear strategic direction Strong commercial acumen, with experience developing client opportunities, propositions and proposals Highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to engage, influence and advise senior leaders Demonstrated people leadership skills, with the ability to lead and develop teams while managing multiple engagements and competing priorities.

Qualifications and Experience required

• Minimum of 5 years relevant post-graduate experience
• Undergraduate or Post Graduate qualification required, but technical discipline flexible, eg Engineering, Science, Law, Commerce
