Job summary

Challenger Limited, an ASX-listed asset manager, is seeking an Associate Director for the Sydney-based Life Strategic Transactions team. The role blends investment, insurance and capital management with broad stakeholder engagement across Governance, ALM, Risk and Legal functions.

You will structure, negotiate and implement sophisticated transactions, including cross-border matters, reinsurance and funding initiatives, while ensuring strong governance and operating models.

Qualifications

• Experience executing and implementing complex transactions across financial services.
• Strong commercial negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Solid understanding of financial markets and investment products.
• Experience working within governance frameworks, approvals and regulated environments.
• Exposure to cross-border transactions or operating structures.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution and implementation of strategic transaction opportunities.
• Ensure transactions are implemented in a commercially sound and risk-aware manner.
• Work on domestic and offshore reinsurance transactions, funding initiatives and mandates.
• Structure investment mandates across private assets, fixed income, equities and alternatives.
• Coordinate approvals, governance processes and operating structures.
