Qualifications

• 5+ years experience leading high performing, autonomous engineering teams
• 10+ years experience in software engineering and system design, hands-on with Java, Go or a comparable language, and with cloud deployments
• Track record of shipping platforms, services or developer tooling that other engineering teams build on
• Strong grasp of modern development practice, including CI/CD, automated testing and infrastructure as code
• Experience across reliability: SLOs, observability, resilience and capacity
• Experience building or operating AI or LLM-backed systems in production
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders across all levels
• Bias to action, ability to move an organisation

Responsibilities

• Direct a team of Engineering Managers and engineering leads.
• Participate in design reviews and pull requests.
• Direct all aspects of SRE, Observability, SLOs, Release Engineering, Resiliency and Capacity Management.
• Help teams develop and drive adoption of best practices and tooling.
• Engage with the engineering community across the organisation.
• Mentor engineers and raise team capabilities.
