Job summary

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is seeking a dynamic leader to join the Commercial Operations Branch as Director, Event Operations and Sales at the Parliamentary Executive Level 2 (PEL2). The role leads event sales, planning, and delivery across Parliament House venues, focusing on high-profile, large-scale events and superior customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience leading event sales and operations teams.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with budget oversight.
• Flexible to work outside standard hours for significant events.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for event sales, planning, banqueting and operations.
• Lead the end-to-end event operating model from enquiry to post-event evaluation.
• Develop and execute sales, BD and venue activation strategies to grow demand and revenue.
• Build and lead a multidisciplinary team across sales, events, and banquet operations.
• Coordinate with parliamentary departments, security, catering teams and clients.
