Base pay range

A$275,000.00/yr - A$350,000.00/yr

Are you a strategic leader who loves to win projects and has a passion for shaping the future of sustainable infrastructure? This is a pivotal executive-level opportunity to join a high-growth, multi-disciplinary consultancy and lead the Environment & Sustainability division for the Victorian geography.

About the Opportunity

In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for accelerating the market position of our client's environmental services within the renewables, rail, water, roads, and complex infrastructure sectors. You will drive a culture of excellence, integrating with cross-divisional teams to support collective growth and technical innovation. This role offers a blend of high-level business development, technical governance, and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Growth & Business Development: Lead business development activities, identify new industry opportunities, and cultivate long-term strategic client relationships.
  • Service Delivery Excellence: Manage the delivery of profitable, high-quality professional services across the entire project lifecycle for multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead recruitment efforts and mentor professional team members to enhance technical capabilities and maintain a positive, values-driven team culture.
  • Project Governance: Oversee project level planning, including scheduling, resource planning, and financial management to ensure timelines and budgets are met.
  • Technical & Regulatory Liaison: Act as a key point of contact for Statutory Authorities and stakeholders, providing strategic advisory services and technical support to project teams.
  • Commercial Management: Manage revenue, profitability, and margins across the Southern division while ensuring high standards of safety and commercial aptitude.
About You
  • Educational Background: Degree qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Engineering, or a similar relevant discipline.
  • Industry Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience within the environment, sustainability, or engineering sectors.
  • Sector Expertise: Proven experience in infrastructure sectors, particularly renewables, water, rail, aviation, and roads. Experience working with Tier 1 Construction Contractors is highly regarded.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Detailed understanding of state and federal environmental legislation, as well as state Planning Policies and Approvals.
  • Leadership Proven: Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams of professionals, combined with a growth mindset and strong commercial acumen.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to present complex environmental recommendations and strategies to both clients and project teams.
