Job summary

Australian Competition & Consumer Commission in Sydney CBD NSW seeks a Director, EL2, Data, Digital and Technology to lead IT strategy and architecture across Microsoft cloud and on-premises environments. You will mentor a skilled team and shape current-state, transition-state, and target-state solutions.

This role requires extensive leadership, strong stakeholder engagement, and proven delivery of large-scale technology changes in a regulated government context.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated technology leadership with 5+ years building enterprise solutions in cloud/on-premise environments.
• Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and influence stakeholders.
• Experience delivering major organisational change in regulated or government settings.
• Experience with cloud solutions, especially Azure, and on-premises integration.
• Relevant industry certifications and APS ILS compliance.

What you will do as the Director

This role sits in the Information Management Technology Services (IMTS) branch of the Data, Digital & Technology Division. The Director, IT Strategy and Architecture reports to the Executive Director, Technology Delivery and works in strong collaboration with the IMTS Directors. This role is pivotal to the IMTS branch and includes a strategic and delivery focus on all aspects of the department’s IT environment, including both Microsoft cloud technologies and on premises systems requiring critical thinking to resolve complex operational issues.

As the Director, IT Strategy and Architecture, you will:

• Lead and mentor a team of highly skilled professionals to develop and sustain ACCC’s architecture and infrastructure ecosystem.
• Define current state, transition states and target state solution architectures for projects and current business problems that align with organisational strategies.
• Provide overall technical leadership to project teams in terms of the end-to-end solution, ensuring all facets of the designs and technologies are integrated.
• Actively engage with project teams to ensure compliance with architecture.

About you

In order to succeed in the role, you will have:

• Extensive demonstrated technology leadership experience, with at least 5 years of experience in designing, building, and deploying enterprise solutions in complex cloud and on-premise environments.
• Demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams, and the proven ability to inspire and motivate others, through effective interpersonal relationships.
• Experience in successfully delivering significant organisational change that require initiative and dealing with uncertainty.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external customer and stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
• Experience in designing, deploying and managing cloud solutions, with familiarity in Azure and other Microsoft cloud offerings.
• Clear, concise and articulate oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate.
• High level of initiative and problem-solving skills with the ability to follow through with required actions, resilience, self-awareness and a commitment to personal development.
• Relevant industry certifications.
