Job summary

First People Recruitment Solutions in Sydney CBD NSW is seeking an experienced Director, Architecture & Platforms to oversee IBA’s IT architecture and platforms. The six-month acting backfill will require stepping in for the CITO, maintaining delivery, vendor relations and platform stability.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated cultural capability and experience with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
• 10+ years leading and managing technical teams at a senior level
• Strong software delivery knowledge across multiple platforms and vendors
• Proven vendor and contract management including SLAs, procurement, and cost control
• Solid understanding of financial services systems (core banking, CRM, ERP) and cloud/cyber security
• Experience developing technology architecture and governance in FS/government environments (TOGAF a plus)
• Experience applying IT risk management and governance within an organisational risk framework
• Excellent written and verbal communication with executives, boards, and agencies

Responsibilities

• Manage key vendors and third-party MSPs, including contracts, SLAs and budgets
• Lead the Architecture function and assess designs against enterprise goals

• Maintain IT Risk Register, controls framework and governance with Risk and Compliance
• Mentor IT staff across key platforms
• Report regularly to the CITO and senior management

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Information and Technology Officer (CITO), the Director, Architecture & Platforms is a key partner to the CITO and part of IBA's senior ICT leadership. This is a six-month acting backfill of the substantive role. It suits an experienced IT leader who can step in quickly and keep delivery, vendors and platforms running well.

You’ll oversee IBA's key platforms, including CRM, TechOne ERP, core banking and Microsoft collaboration tools. You’ll monitor software releases and projects alongside technical leads, manage key vendors and contracts, and act as CITO when they are away. You’ll also support IBA's longer-term goal of an enduring, resilient technology architecture with mature IT risk, governance and compliance practices.

Key Duties

• Act as CITO in their absence and provide broad IT leadership across the Information & Technology team
• Oversee software delivery practices, including regular releases and projects across platforms and vendors
• Manage key vendors and third-party managed service providers, including contracts, service levels and budgets, and make decisions within your delegation
• Lead the Architecture function, including its regular forums and the assessment of solution designs against enterprise goals
• Support the CITO to develop and implement the Technology Architecture Strategy and Technology Operating Model across people, process and technology
• Maintain the IT Risk Register, controls framework and IT governance model, and work with Risk and Compliance, including on internal audit
• Supervise and mentor IT staff across key platforms
• Report regularly to the CITO and senior management
• Work in culturally informed and respectful ways with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander customers, colleagues and stakeholders

• Demonstrated cultural capability and experience working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities or organisations
• 10+ years leading and managing technical teams, with broad IT leadership experience at a senior level
• Strong software delivery knowledge, including oversight of large or complex technology projects and releases across multiple platforms and vendors
• Proven vendor and contract management experience, including negotiation, procurement, service level monitoring and IT cost centre management (forecasting, cost control and reporting)
• A solid understanding of financial services systems such as core banking, CRM, ERP (TechOne desirable), cloud infrastructure and cyber security
• Experience developing technology architecture and governance in financial services or government (familiarity with TOGAF is an advantage)
• Experience applying IT risk management and governance practices in line with an organisational risk framework
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence executives, the board, vendors and other agencies
