Qualifications

  • Diploma in Children Services is essential.
  • Experience at Diploma level in an early learning service is preferred.
  • Understanding of National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Ability to record observations, write learning stories and assist curriculum planning.
  • Good communication with colleagues, families and community; child protection awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of programs reflecting the approved learning framework.
  • Develop positive relationships with children, families and community.
  • Facilitate play-based learning environments responsive to children's interests and abilities.
  • Carry daily duties of set up and pack up and maintain room cleanliness.
  • Document learning through observations and assessments against learning outcomes.

Job description

  • $38.92 - $43.88 per hour (Depending on experience) + RDO's + Super + Salary Packaging Benefits
  • 16hours per week - flexible on which days you work
  • The centre is open between 7:30am and 6pm so the shifts will vary between these times. You must be available to work the rotating shifts

What you’ll be doing in this role

As a Diploma Qualified Educator, you’ll provide quality education and care to children to help support and facilitate their learning outcomes in accordance with the National Quality Standards and learning framework!

Your care work may include:
  • Contribute to the development of programs which reflect the approved learning framework.
  • Developing positive and respectful relationships that support children, their families and community.
  • Facilitating play-based learning environments that are responsive to children’s interest, strengths, and abilities.
  • Carry daily duties of set up and pack up as well as maintain cleanliness of the room.
  • Documenting children’s learning through observations and assessments against learning outcomes
Who we’re looking for
  • Diploma in Children Services (essential), with previous experience working at a Diploma Level in an early learning service.
  • A work history that demonstrates recording observations, writing learning stories and supporting the planning of a successful curriculum using the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Understand the National Quality Standards
  • Strong understanding of Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, families and community members
  • Experience working with children with developmental delays and disabilities desirable but not essential
  • You’ll be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
