Job summary

The University of Melbourne is seeking a Diploma-qualified Early Childhood Educator to design and deliver high-quality programs for children aged three months to five years at Queensberry Children’s Centre.

You will observe and assess learning, mentor educators, and strengthen relationships with families while working within EYLF and National Quality Standards. Join a supportive team dedicated to continuous improvement and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Hold an ACECQA-approved Diploma qualification and a current Employee Working with Children Check.
• Bring at least two years’ experience in early childhood education within regulated centre-based services.
• Demonstrate ability to design, implement and evaluate programs aligned with EYLF and National Quality Standards.
• Supervise and mentor educators or students, identifying strengths and improvement areas within your room.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver inclusive, play-based programs aligned with the EYLF and National Quality Framework.
• Observe, document and assess children’s learning, using professional records for planning and evaluation.
• Create safe, engaging learning environments, supervising children and meeting wellbeing and care needs.
• Collaborate with educators and leaders to reflect on pedagogy and improve teaching practice and outcomes.
• Build respectful, inclusive relationships with families and colleagues, sharing information with centre management.
