Job summary

Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in Sydney is seeking a senior Java engineer to join a multi-disciplinary digital team. You will design and develop microservices, implement API models and work across CI/CD and cloud platforms to deliver a modern, scalable digital services platform.

The role focuses on operating in an event-driven architecture with a strong emphasis on security, quality, and continuous improvement. Hybrid working options are available and background checks will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years as a Java engineer, preferably in a digital team.
• ,
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Ability to model APIs, versioning and service segregation.
• Familiarity with agile and waterfall delivery methods.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software solutions within the digital engineering team.
• Build operational and support tools and documentation for maintenance.
• Contribute to code health through reviews and refactoring.
• Apply agile practices to deliver incremental value and backlogs.
• Provide estimates and assist sizing for improvements.
• Contribute to portfolio wide digital solution designs.
• Work with architecture to define technical options and align with roadmaps.
• Ensure security, reliability and compliance in delivered code.
• Act as a change agent embracing new ideas and technologies.
