Qualifications

• Experience with social media platforms, content creation and digital engagement.
• Understanding of Australian politics and parliamentary processes with an interest in public policy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, research and analytical skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and community organisations.
• Collaborative, proactive approach and well-developed IT skills including Microsoft Office, Canva and social media tools.
• Professional integrity and discretion; maintain confidentiality.
• Commitment to safe, respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in politics, policy, media or communications will be well regarded.

Responsabilités

• Create and manage engaging social media content highlighting the Member’s policy positions, parliamentary activities and community engagement.
• Identify local stories, events and initiatives for digital promotion.
• Monitor media coverage, track social media performance and identify emerging issues.
• Assist with media responses, newsletters and other communications.
• Research policy developments and legislative matters.
• Prepare concise advice, briefs, speeches and parliamentary materials.
• Attend briefings and stakeholder meetings on behalf of the Member where required.
• Coordinate parliamentary schedules and briefing materials during sitting weeks.
• Monitor and report on proceedings in the House of Representatives.
