Job summary

Multicultural Communities Council of Illawarra (MCCI) in Fyshwick, ACT, is seeking a Nutritionist to deliver culturally safe nutrition care for diverse communities within the Illawarra-Shoalhaven and ACT regions.

The role involves assessments, personalised care plans and group education, working with a multidisciplinary team, and maintaining AlayaCare records. A flexible, community-focused environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent.
• Eligibility for APD is required or current status.
• Strong assessment, counselling and care-planning skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nutritional assessments and develop personalised care plans.
• Provide one-on-one and group nutrition education and counselling.
• Monitor and review client progress and outcomes.
• Deliver culturally safe, client-centred services.
• Work collaboratively with Allied Health Professionals and Care Partners.
• Identify additional client needs and facilitate referrals.
• Present health promotion sessions to community groups.
• Maintain accurate client records in AlayaCare.
• Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities.

Key Responsibilities

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition and Dietetics, or equivalent qualification
• Eligibility for, or current status as, an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD).
• Strong assessment, counselling and care-planning skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience working with older people and culturally diverse communities will be highly regarded.
• Current Driver Licence and willingness to travel within the service region.
