Job summary

MacKellar Group is seeking an experienced Preventative Maintenance Fitter to join our maintenance team at Curragh Mine, near Blackwater. This permanent role focuses on preventative maintenance, defect identification and improving fleet reliability across a large fleet of heavy mining equipment.

You will be a qualified Diesel Fitter / Plant Mechanic with strong experience in mobile mining machinery, safety-focused and committed to high workmanship standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified Diesel Fitter / Plant Mechanic with relevant ticketing.
• Experience with preventative maintenance on large mobile mining equipment.
• Strong focus on equipment reliability and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on fleet.
• Identify defects and document potential failures.
• Raise and manage work orders and maintenance tasks.
• Conduct machine audits and improve reliability.
• Coordinate with Planning to schedule maintenance.
• Maintain records of equipment condition and safe work practices.

Your Responsibilities

• Complete inspections and preventative maintenance activities
• Identify, scope and document defects and potential failures
• Raise and manage work orders and maintenance requirements
• Conduct machine audits and identify reliability opportunities
• Work closely with Planning to prioritise and schedule maintenance
• Maintain accurate records and communicate equipment condition
• Complete all work safely and to a high standard

About You

You’ll be a qualified Diesel Fitter / Plant Mechanic with:

• Experience on large-scale mobile mining equipment
• Strong preventative maintenance and defect identification skills
• Experience with work orders and maintenance systems
• A proactive approach to equipment reliability
• Strong safety focus and quality workmanship
