Job summary

Randstad is seeking a Heavy Diesel / Equipment Mechanic to service a modern civil hire fleet in Cairns. You’ll diagnose, service and repair excavators, dozers, EWPs, cranes, rollers and more in a clean, well-equipped workshop environment.

This permanent full-time role offers $50-60 per hour plus superannuation, with a safety-first culture and supportive team. You’ll work autonomously on diverse diesel engines and hydraulic systems, ensuring high availability and reliability for the fleet.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Trade Qualifications in heavy equipment or automotive.
• Experience repairing and diagnosing heavy equipment/diesel engines.
• Ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, major repairs, and preventative maintenance on civil construction plant.
• Perform advanced fault-finding and mechanical/hydraulic diagnostics.
• Ensure all fleet equipment meets high safety and operational standards.
