Job summary

Australian Tartaric Products in Colignan, VIC, is seeking a full-time Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. You will service, repair and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and mobile plant to keep production running safely and efficiently.

Ideal candidates hold a diesel/heavy vehicle trade qualification, demonstrate strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities, and can work both independently and in a team. A current C-class driver’s licence and safety commitment are essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to prioritise maintenance tasks and respond to breakdowns when required.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair diesel-powered vehicles and mobile plant.
• Carry out scheduled and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Maintain forklifts, loaders, tractors, excavators and other mobile plant.
• Carry out servicing and repairs on all equipment on site.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out repairs as required.
• Identify and report potential equipment faults before they result in breakdowns.
• Complete equipment inspections, maintenance records and work orders.
• Work with production and maintenance teams to minimise equipment downtime.
• Maintain a clean and organised workshop and work area.
• Follow company safety, quality and environmental procedures.
