Job summary

Shamick Transport is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our Laverton North workshop in Victoria. This full-time role maintains and services our diesel fleet, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency for our transport operations.

You will diagnose engine faults, perform routine maintenance, and keep precise service logs while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. A recognised diesel qualification and a valid licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified diesel mechanic with certification.
• Experience in the transport/logistics sector.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel and electrical systems.
• Ability to read manuals and service documentation.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engine faults, including mechanical, electrical and fuel system issues.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
• Schedule servicing and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify problems and determine solutions.
• Maintain accurate service logs for all vehicles attended to.
• Inspect braking, suspension, tyres and other critical components for safety compliance.
• Repair or replace faulty parts including engines and transmissions.
• Communicate condition and repair recommendations to drivers and management.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols and keep the workshop clean and organized.
