Job summary

Adelaide Truck Centre in Dry Creek, South Australia, is seeking an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join its workshop team. The successful candidate will diagnose, service, maintain and repair diesel engines and mechanical systems in heavy commercial vehicles, including prime movers and rigid trucks.

This full-time role requires identifying faults, dismantling and repairing components, carrying out preventative maintenance and testing repaired systems to ensure safe operation.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualification in heavy commercial vehicle mechanical technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience as a diesel motor/mechanic.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel-powered trucks.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, fuel systems and braking systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose faults in diesel engines and heavy vehicle systems.
• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance according to specifications.
• Use diagnostic scanners and testing instruments to identify faults.
• Dismantle and inspect engine assemblies and components for wear and repairs.
• Repair or replace worn parts following workshop procedures.
• Document faults, servicing actions and repairs accurately.
• Assist apprentices with guidance and training as required.
