Job summary

Fletcher International Exports in Dubbo is seeking a qualified Diesel Motor Mechanic to maintain, diagnose and repair diesel-powered trucks, trailers and heavy vehicles across our transport and agricultural operations. You will perform preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and use electronic diagnostic tools in a fast-paced production environment, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated industry experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills in diesel engines and heavy vehicle systems.
• Experience repairing engines, transmissions, steering, suspension and braking systems.
• Experience using electronic diagnostic tools and interpreting technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines and associated vehicle systems.
• Carrying out scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy vehicles and diesel-powered equipment.
• Dismantling, repairing and reassembling engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking systems and other mechanical components.
• Testing, adjusting and commissioning repaired components and systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Using diagnostic equipment and computer-based testing systems to identify and rectify faults.
• Responding to breakdowns and carrying out unplanned maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Completing maintenance records and complying with workplace health, safety and environmental requirements.
