Management and Training Corporation – Brisbane QLD is seeking a Diesel Generator Mechanic for our Nauru Regional Processing Centre. The role involves inspecting, repairing and maintaining diesel generators, heavy vehicles and cranes, with a FIFO from Brisbane on a 4/4 roster.

You will hold a Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology with 3+ years’ experience and be able to pass pre-employment checks including AFP, health assessments and COVID-19 vaccination.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience with diesel powered generators.
• Remote environment experience preferred.
• Working with Children Check and safety requirements able to be obtained.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose generator, heavy vehicles and crane issues and devise effective solutions.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on generators, heavy vehicles and cranes.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Support management and stakeholders to ensure safety and wellbeing on site.

We have a great opportunity for a Diesel Generator Mechanic to join our dedicated team based onsite at the Nauru Regional Processing Centre.

As the Diesel Generator Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing regular inspections, emergency repairs, and maintenance of generators, heavy vehicles, and cranes, ensuring optimal performance and quick responses to faults at the Nauru Regional Processing Centre. This is a FIFO position flying from Brisbane to Nauru, working a 4/4 roster.

In your new role, you will:

• Diagnosing generator, heavy vehicles, and cranes, issues and devising effective solutions, while
• Maintaining detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on generators, heavy vehicles, and cranes, to ensure optimal performance
• Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to ensure all equipment is functioning effectively and efficiently
• Perform additional operational duties as required to support and assist management and stakeholders to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all personnel on site

To be successful, you will:

• Have a Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working with diesel powered generators, preferably in a remote environment
• Hold or willing to obtain and working with children certification
• Ability to undertake and pass preemployment checks such at Australian Federal Police Check, full physical and health assessment
• Provide evidence that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 (double vaccinated)
