Job summary

South32 is hiring a Diesel Fitter for our Cannington operation in northwest Queensland. This permanent role offers FIFO from Townsville, Brisbane, Cairns or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires, and the chance to work with Sandvik, Epiroc, CAT equipment in an underground mining environment.

You will maintain heavy mobile plant to defined standards, conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, and use SAP for work management while prioritising safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter / Mechanic.
• Experience in underground mining equipment is essential.
• Strong hydraulic fault-finding skills and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Scheduled and breakdown maintenance of mobile plant.
• Underground environment maintenance on drilling equipment and trucks.
• Scope corrective work to meet work management processes.
• Operate and document maintenance in SAP.
