Job summary

Thiess at Lake Vermont Mine in Queensland is hiring a Diesel Fitter to maintain heavy earthmoving equipment. You will perform scheduled servicing, repairs and component changes with a strong focus on safety and quality.

The role offers a permanent full-time contract and a 7/7 even-time roster, with site facilities provided and opportunities for development. Applicants should hold a Diesel Fitting Trade Certificate, post-trade mining experience, and a current driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in Diesel Fitting or recognised equivalent.
• Post-trade experience in mining or heavy earthmoving industry.
• Experience maintaining heavy mining equipment, including breakdowns and servicing.
• Current driver's licence.
• Current Standard 11 desirable.
• Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Diesel Fitter with a passion for maintaining heavy mining equipment? Thiess is seeking motivated and safety-focused Diesel Fitters to join our high-performing team at Lake Vermont Mine near Dysart, Queensland.

As a key member of the Lake Vermont Maintenance team, you'll play an important role in supporting safe, reliable and efficient fleet performance through quality maintenance, repairs and servicing of heavy earthmoving equipment.

Roster: 7/7 Even Time (Day & Night Shift) | Location: Lake Vermont Mine, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

As the Diesel Fitter, you will

• Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing and repairs on heavy earthmoving equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify breakdowns to minimise equipment downtime.
• Complete component change outs while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

About You

• Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or recognised equivalent.
• Post-trade experience within the mining or heavy earthmoving industry.
• Experience undertaking maintenance, breakdowns, servicing and component change outs on heavy mining equipment.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Current Standard 11 desirable.
